About Us
Communications
Responsible for providing a single point of contact for media and press enquiries, the team promotes ACPOS policies within the Scottish Police Service, and to external partners and the public.
Freedom of information
The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 does not apply to us because we are an independent organisation and not listed in the Schedule of Bodies that must comply with the Act. We will act in the spirit of the legislation and respond to reasonable requests for information when it is available and not costly to compile.
We are committed to working with the Scottish Police Service to protect the communities they serve, and to prevent and detect crime. Requests about ongoing police investigations, policing tactics, intelligence and the use of related operational techniques will normally be declined.
