The Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland (ACPOS) is the professional voice of police leadership in Scotland.
We are an independent organisation registered in Scotland with Companies House (company number SC310956) as a company limited by guarantee. We are also a charity registered in Scotland (no. SC039323). We are led by a Board of Directors and our ordinary membership.
The Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland is committed to shaping and modernising policing.
ACPOS will fully engage with partners and, by delivering excellent policing services, collaboratively build safe, strong and successful communities.
We are not a staff association. A separate organisation, The Scottish Chief Police Officers' Staff Association, exists to represent chief police officers and senior police staff on conditions of service and pay.

ACPOS is made up of the ACPOS Board of Directors, ACPOS Council and Ordinary Members.
We carry out our business through 10 business areas supported by a Secretariat, Freedom of Information Co-ordinator, and a Communications team. We also host the Business Change Directorate, which includes the Business Benefits Unit, to promote collaborative and efficient working between the 8 Scottish police forces.
